Hey everyone! I’m a 3D artist specialized in architectural visualization and I’ve been in the industry for over 5 years. Recently, I’ve been thinking about diving into Python and I’m really curious about how it could help improve my workflow, productivity and income in Archviz. I know Python is widely used in the world,…
You can already. Take a look at the foliage map; most of the foliage is static mesh with a vertex shader. A vert shader is an option, but I don't know how well it would work or how consistently. Morph target animation is pretty easy and will generate consistent results.
As people suggested, I started to create a simple object. By the way, Audi R8 was done in 2016. It was my old work :-) I am looking for a junior position of the game company. Would you please evaluate my work? It is fine to criticize.... P.S 1- I watched many mental ray tutorials on the Youtube... and yet, I still have no…
Hello o/ So i've been working on this sci fi gun thingy for about a week now and to try out texturing i started with the cartridge. I soon realised that i'm pretty bad at texturing. At first i was going for a plastic look for te cartridge but tried metal instead and all i can say is that it feels like a mess. My color…
I totally agree with this while it is not essential that you know how to draw, it is useful to know how to draw to be a great artist. Drawing helps in visualisation, understanding lighting, composition, and design.
I agree that the lighting is the weakest common denominator in your environments and is one of the hardest things to nail in an environment. I struggle with it too. I think the tea garden is looking much too washed out and too bright. Some of the details are getting lost. Your site layout is fine; no gripes with that.…
Reduce the polycount? If anything you should increase the polycount. But, I won't repeat what @lotet already told you. Polycount is complettly dependent on the asset's purpose. How can triangles be bad? The game engine e renders triangles. N-gons are neither good nor bad. You just need to understand what they are and how…

Hello, I'm using MaxScript for a uni module and my idea to create a scene generator. I'm keeping it simple for now and sticking with just a hilly scene. I have managed to create a road using a box, a line and an extrude along spline function. What I need the road to do now is mold to the hilly scene. How would I go about…
(Maya) hey guys, first real post on these forums. I'm fairly new to Maya, and I'm just wondering, what is the best way to get an object to glow in Maya? I want to achieve an effect something like what you see in the first 30 seconds of this video [ame="…
