[ QUOTE ] Honestly, the entire design is shit, not just the smiley. [/ QUOTE ] With such a bold and defining statement such as this, including the criticism of the "smiley" that was the defining Polycount symbol during the Dominance War, I'd expect the rest of the post to be statements supporting this declaration...…
@winf : I agree with most of your points as to where the armor falls and such, but as I mentioned I'm trying to build the armor around the exact proportions of the in-game character model, and there are certain conflicts between that and the concept piece (namely that the breasts of the concept piece come down much farther…
Awesome croissant sculpt! I agree with Joopson that the wood texturing is noisy, its taking away from the great sculpt imo. I think the concept you're working with is appealing because of how clean it is, its got a lot of focus on color+shape with bigger stylized details. Of course, if you're going for a more stylized PBR…
Hi! I'm sort of new to DDO but i found my way to the effect properties that use object space normal masking to apply directional effects. When i open up the settings for it, the problem is that changing the sliders seems weird. I think it's easier if i just say what my spefific problem is. I have my dirt layer go on the…
Another important thing is most texture baking tools will treat glass as a solid surface, so an ambient occlusion bake will just be black inside there. So either hide the glass when baking AO, or find a baker that ignores glass.
Hello @Noren ! Sorry for the late reply! I was quite overwhelmed with the tasks at hand so I left Polycount for a bit to settle them first! For now, I will keep it as it is but I will take this advice for the other assets! Because maybe i want to put something between the cupboards later that would expose the sides.…
Kevin's post pretty much sums it up but I'll share anyway. I have to say though, I wish I had the kind of time he does to spend on assets at work. No doubt they crank out an amazing amount of content at such a high quality bar, but the LD's there are masters of reuse and repurposing assets! The workflow and process of…
@Dvolution Thanks a lot! I tried to apply this principle, its really helpful to make the character pop out btw, I used to make a top lighting on a model and bake it which is also helpful.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback.I really appreciate you taking the time to point these things out.I got busy midway with work, so I haven’t been able to add more post to my portfolio.I’ve updated my asset based on the above suggestions, and I’m planning to revisit and polish the rest of the portfolio once I get…
First off, this might be in the wrong subforum and I apologise if it is, this seemed like a better place that the Substance forum. So I've made an attempt at making a PBR material from photogrammetry data, following sebvhe's tutorial (https://gumroad.com/sebvhe). Everything went pretty smoothly (and i was actually getting…
