I use the same Dell workstation at work, T5810, as you speced out except 16gbs of ram... it's not really great. Rendering isn't impressive since it's 1 CPU max, if you do a lot of rendering you'd probably want at least a dual CPU capable machine... more the merrier for rendering. Iam glad that they decided against a full open world. the linearity maybe forces some structure and feeling of urgency on the player. It's an issue with the Witcher 3 as well as Fallout 4 or Skyrim. to sculpt a straight line in mudbox simply create a new curve object along your line and snap your brush to it in mudbox 2015 you can also right click a created curve and let mudbox stroke along the curve using your current tool , pretty much like the stroke path function in Photoshop you will need a few subdivisons to do… -

Yep. Generally your clients will expect actual assets in their program of choice. If you are delivering nothing but .FBX files, final rendered images or animations, you might be able to swing it with Blender... but otherwise, expect to have to support either/or Maya/Max.
