What do u mean by needing steam to be connected?That means one would have to be connected to the internet to use SFM?or Steam is just a program u have leave runing on ur pc while using SFM for it to work and being connected to the internet isn't necessary?I would prefer an offline program. You will want a much cleaner base mesh if you are going into Zbrush to do some sculpting. For example on your edges if you try to add any wear or detail you are going to get some horrible deformation because of the polygon distribution (I assume) and the extreme sharp edges. You should take a look at some of the tutorials… -
