Glad to see you're posting on here Fink :) I think you could definitely lose some edge loops around the base of the moobs. There won't be any kind of animation that could use those loops properly. Also, why are the cylinder extrusions sticking straight out of his body? I can't see it in the concept so I'm curious.
Hi this looking great! the only thing that feels a bit off is the part on grenade with hex pattern, lower part seems stretched and it would make more sense if the scale of pattern is a bit small to show it packs more ballistic power. Lastly there would be almost no edge wear on hex pattern as its protected from top and…
Seeing how small those extrusions are on the model, I wouldn't worry about the distortions. I'm not sure if you need to make every side to the table unique either. If you did two sides instead of 4 you'd be given more texture room to work with, and even more if you could find a way to mirror that pattern on the very top.
Ha, thanks 00Zero. I don't use patches, but that is an interesting idea. I mostly use boxes and edge extrusions. Got a good chunk of stuff done this weekend. I still need to tweak some things, but most of the interior and whatnot is done. I just started on the dash, so that will take a little bit. More to come... -M
I would suggest getting tons of reference first. This is just looking so underworked at the moment. I like the idea, but you need to get more inspired here. This is just a box with a few extrusions sitting on some cylinders. This looks like the start of your hi-poly, but it's still so blocky. Figure out what your workflow…
Hi I want to make this fur into those slips and I am not sure what I should do : 1 Sculpt manually all the furs with brushes and eventually after paint them with texture or other fur? 2 Leave it smooth and just simulate some extrusions and then add the fur after with the texture normal created like crazybump or the like…
Autodesk announced 3dsmax 2012, we thought it would be a good idea to take a look at what's new. There seem to be a lot of new features here is a look at the ones we think will impact you the most. Out of the box the single biggest change to our every day work flow, is to the UVWunwrap. Hands down this is going to effect…
racer: thanks for the crit, yea like es said ive seen your diagram on a few posts, and i know what ya mean... i didn't know exactly how the renders would turn out, yea on some edges there is a little to much pinching on the red dot. es: good eye, i need to break apart those verts coming out from the extrusions, thanks for…
The extrusion outwards over the back wheel that extends all the way to the end of the door need to be a lot curvier from the sideview. Looking at your model it looks like said part is pretty much flat from the sideview which doesn't seem to match the references at all. Other than that I can't see any obvious problems…
He's using two maps. One with rough shapes like the blobs that form rock extrusions and the dents for the spots without grass. And then one that's tiled to give the actual detail like grass blades and dirt clumps. Sort of like this, except for normal maps: Yes it's expensive to unwrap something this big, because it…
