Here's a shoddy max render of the HP wires. Main body turbosmooth set at 1 for visibility sake. Used 2 for baking maps. Whole HP model including welds(8m) at baking was about 40million :) Lots of bolts, welds and other small bits and pieces that no one will probably ever notice. Main body made in Maya, welds in zBrush. -
Xnormal Baking Problems
Hey All I am having some strange things happen when i try and back my high to my low. I am using Maya, Zbrush and normal. 3ds Max Normal Map bake problem
I'm not getting a Tangent-space normal map when I do render to texture I keep getting Object-space normal map is there a setting that needs to be changed? I'm using 3ds Max 2012. -

The bake is nice, texture are good too, wondering how you did the carbon fiber. Only thing that bugs me is the reflective shader, the bike looks more like its sugar coated than reflective material, maybe that has something to do with the AO bake + reflection? It bugs me also that there is a bit of red paint over the seat :P -
baking height maps in alpha channels of other maps
is it possible to have marmoset combine greyscale textures into the alpha chanels of other textures? -

the problem is not the model - its the material. it will not automatically refract light - you need to tell it how to fake the effect there'll be a wide variety of ways to set it up documented on the internet (all of which will make me cross )
