Here I am, once again, with a update! Since last time I've been able to get quite a lot of work done, and I'm quite pleased with how I've progressed. I've been able to make the lowpoly, unwrap and bake everything. This time around I wanted to try a different baking-progress. Usually I've been doing all my baking inside of…
It might be a bit flip floppy of me, going back and forth, but the clasp was worrying me that it wouldn't go through the pipeline very well, so I've done a bit of texture testing. This is the process I'm going to use for pretty much everything for the contest, and it's very quick for me, but perhaps not the best looking…
Yeah. You're really between a rock and a hard place. Autodesk isn't really interested in affordability for freelancers...but Maya LT looks like a decent deal if you animate. As an environmental person I find Blender is as good as anything else now for static geometry now that they have fixed the hard/soft edges issue…
Update. Ok so after endless hours testing for errors, adjusting drivers and desperately trying to convince myself that this is not a hardware fault at all, I've finally had some successes and I believe I have solved the issues completely. Hopefully this will help others here also. Im not sure this will work for everyone…
Started gathering references of what kind of colour scheme that I would like to have for him. Thinking about Dreaming - Night - Magic - Ancient - Trees as reference points for brainstorming. Everything goes at this point. I need to sit down and properly narrow things down now. However, managed to get the baking done.…
Much like Substance Designer, Substance Painter seems to be focused primarily on producing post-effects like wear and debri. I tried using it to create a hand-painted texture, and was not at all impressed with the result. I'm still working on my exact process, but at the moment I'm using SD to bake out my normal map, then…
Hi, I will try to explain me the better I can and I will upload a lot of photos for improve my explanations because I don't know how to explain this, apologies in advance. I have a model with two "parts", the armor and the body, I divide the model in two parts because I thought it would be the best form to avoid problems…

"Fat Hammer" Grenade Launcher Minigun (concept by Billy Wimblett) The whole idea of this project was to challenge myself to do something I don't really like - I don't like weapons, not a big fan of a hard surface and don't like all those super low-poly models. Plus I don't use Arnold much, I never GPU rendered before,…
Hey y'all! This is my first time posting a new topic, so I hope that you enjoy the content. The goal for this project was to create a "pretty corner" for a game environment pipeline. This includes creating a material pipeline that works well with both hero and modular props using material attributes, complex materials for…
