Hello Everyone! Re-Opening a previous Game Concept. All the Foundational work is Done, Just looking for some help getting our Alpha Version across the line now. I've seen a lot of novice threads for 3D art on Polycount before and a lot of them have suffered without a clear 2D vision of what they're going for. I really recommend, at a minimum and as slightly tiring as it is, an aesthetic/style board to guide your piece going forward.
Hello Obbin, welcome to polycount. given the technical nature of this question, you're better off getting a good answer in our 2D/3D forum, not our general discussion forum which is for the rest of "off-topic" type discussions. I'm moving the topic now.
the photo thread normally seems to be bouncing around the top of the boards ... so i was thinking of a flickr group, not just for polycounters, but anyone who's job or interests are digital 2d and 3d. I bet there'd be plenty of funky photoshopping and post-processes going on any takers?
To me, this just feels out of place. What would the point of a polycount-hosted 2d character contest be, when there are forums like conceptart.org with a very active community? Would it be so you're 'a big fish in a small pond', rather than competing with people who are great at concept art?
hi richard! first, page (talking about the images) is a bit a horror to go through. go for a simple solution with the images; ordered in a table so that one can get a quick overview of your work - no one (who can give you work) wants to explore your quality/talent of/for your work in a "go through all the links" way. show…
Hey man, if I were you I would get to researching now. Making characters and anything in 3d in gereneral is really time consuming and the last thing you want to do is make a fleet of them that are completely usless to potential employers. Like others have said, I don't think there is any place in the game industry for…
blitz - why the #%^@ ARE THOSE JEANS SHORTS SO DAMN REAL!<3 future-fiction - I was hoping I would see her again. The face looks amazing. All the soft color blends.Very anime esque. tacit math - Are those fullblown sketches or sculpt/2d?? Polycount is so beast.
I would bring what you have into a 2d program and draw your design over it. Figure out what your large volumes are and plan how the muscles fit together. Then use zremesh to lower the polycount back down and build up those volumes you planned out.
Welcome to Polycount, pagerrager. I moved your thread to the General Discussion forum as it didn't really belong in our Contests & Challenges forum. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your 2D work. Feel free to create a thread to show off your work in the Pimping & Previews section.
