Greetings one and all, I decided to take the plunge, more or less - decided enough was enough, as my Dual Core laptop running a GeForce 9300m GS was nowhere near cutting it. Especially since it's falling apart after ~4 years of intensive use. I have a mid-range desktop on its way to me (will post pics when I get it) - this…
What i found helpful when it came to video card performance is to look at the current card naming conventions. For example you have the Nvidia 400 line which is the 450, 460, 470 and the 480 and then you have the current top of the line Nvidia 500 cards 550, 560, 570 and 580. With naming conventions like this i presume the…
2k is ambitious for a workstation. Mine was closer to 4k and doesn't come close to my desktop that was 1k less (10900k Vs 5950x) At that price I would probably aim for something gamey with a 3070. CPU is not so important and personally I'd skimp on the display /speakers etc . As you'll be plugging it into proper kit when…
Vig: It's just 44$, that's nothing compared to the rest of the stuff. Since he'll try his new system out for performance immediately he'd get a bad first impression with only 512MB. sonic: One guy here had to install Windows because Ati's drivers suck so bad he couldn't play WoW otherwise. Besides, we were matching the…
Thanks, i fixed up the coloring of the axe so that its more defined, not really sure what you meant by diffuse though? (Sorry im new to the whole modelling/photoshop) I kind of thought that too but not really sure how i would go about making it more sturdier without having to recolour the entire axe again :( Hmm i might be…
I don't know why do people complaining about the new update. With just $1,470/year you got 370 new shiny high definition icons. Folks, 370 is like . . . . a lot.
So I've been given a scene to work on in Maya with some fairly complex rigs, and when trying to animate the characters the framerate drops to about 10 frames per second. Just moving a character's root controller around is painfully slow. I ran the scene with an i7-3770 3.4GHz processor, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1070. I…
Hello! I want to upgrade my GPU..and I need some advice. What is the best rx 470 8Gb, gtx 1050 Ti 4 Gb or gtx 1060 3Gb? I think with rx 470 I will work more comfortable but I'm not sure.Sorry, If I duplicate my question, can't find the similar topic. Thank you
32gb of ram is overkill unless you're doing lots of super high res rendering or video production work. 8gb will mostly likely suit 99% of tasks but 16gb isn't that much more expensive. Do you plan on overclocking? If not, get the non K 3770 and save a few bucks. I7's automatically overclock so there really isn't much need…
