I think I'm getting a handle on UV mapping in Maya, but how to you make multiple UV maps for one object?.....y'know, one map for upper torso, one map for lower torso....instead of clumping the entire object on one map.

I need to combine several curves objects in the outliner to a single Nurbs Curves object. How does one do this? Parenting does not solve my problem. Below is my outliner. It's for a groom asset. How many different material ID's can you have on a single static mesh in UDK? I'm having some difficulty when I import this mesh with 8 different materials... the material ID groups get all mismatched and shit when I import. Any suggestions? I haven't used UDK in like 3 years so I'm hella rusty.
