What is the Pros and cons of c3d and bvh motion capture data

I am wounding what is the Pros and cons of c3d and bvh mocap data ? I guess both are widely used format but not sure what is better. Please share your experience which one is flexible to cleanup and use. c3d or bvh ? thanks
