heh, I heard it was bullshit.. they used a dolls hand apparently! Also check out the bandana colour on the model and in the painting! clever footage splicing the little kid dipping his hands in paint and them using a doll hand to paint with.
omg. my hand hurts! som many vertex pushing all day lol cant close hand! fuck! lol errr, this render sucks. i will put some new screens tomorrow need to ice my hand.
haha, also, from watching that fake advertisement of the family playing, how did it know that it was supposed to track the girls hands instead of the fathers hands (which were 2 inches away from her hands and also moving around).
I really like this character, nice job. As for crits, try tweaking the pose on the hands. The right hand doesn't look like its holding the sword very well, maybe adjust the position of the thumb and how the sword fits into the hand.
One one hand I dig the fact that their footage shows a clearly working prototype/device. But on the other hand ... the palm detection (or lack thereof ?) seems to make for some awkward hand hovering. Curious to see how this will turn out !
Does anybody have a favourite/recommended hand modelling tutorial? I'm making FPS hands and just need somewhere to start really. Its my first time modelling hands from scratch and I just want to make sure I get edge flow and things right from the beginning. There appear to be LOADS of tutorials out there but it would take…
I'm making a low-poly character for a game that is less than 1000 tri-polygons. The character will have low-poly hands. How did games back in the late 90s like UT99 or Quake 3 do hand animations? Blend shapes? The character is going to use a gripping pose when holding weapons and open/relaxed when not holding a weapon. Do…
I have read a few places that you should keep rigs between 30 and 64 bones for a mesh. To be honest I am not sure how to do this on a character with fully articulating hands and a face rig. My face rig is fairly minimal: four bones in the lips, four in the brows and two for the tongue (the eyes are sort of fixed orbs). But…
Hi guys, I'm currently working on a small hand painted scene. I was inspired by a friend who does hand painted texturing to give it a try. I'm trying for diffuse only, no spec or normal. I may add lights though. I have never hand painted textures before and I'm definitely having difficulties so any feedback or critique…
