I was doing a search for studios that develop for the PSP since I happen to enjoy making old gen game art and I'm looking for work. I came across this http://blog.wired.com/games/2006/11/climax_psp_deve.html Can anyone post studios they know of that develop for the PSP or DS. Any thoughts on the article would be cool too.…
Hello Online World, Back Story: Recently, I decided to document my senior thesis process. We
have a year long class, where we can work on any type of project we want. Being
a 3D artist, I wanted to make an intractable environment but needed help
coding so I decided to team up with one of my close friends. He is…
@Noren @iam717 thank you both for the feedback, it's helped a lot! I've made a little bit more progress on the blockout with adjustments based on your comments as well as some extra things I picked up on thanks to them :) Attaching the old version here for direct comparison: Scale blindness is something I'm still…
http://store.steampowered.com/app/290790/ Anyone else playing it? Its from the guys at Petroglyph (a lot of old C&C developers). Great to see that someone is still making good old RTS games.
Interesting. What would you propose doing for a situation where I want text in the texture? For instance, a tavern sign, "Ye Olde Smutty Inn" on a block of wood. It's something I tried on an earlier model and gave up on, because it unwraps too deformed to place text on, and straightening it out deforms the applied texture.…
There all kinds of atlasing techniques plus you can layer additional effects through vertex colors while technically staying in the same drawcall/material. Zombies are probably instanced too. We had a system for that in an old rts I worked on. In general I would suggest this as a great read on the subject:…
Hey Wirrexx, I did a quick paint over. First of all, good color variation! One thing you could add is some subtle variation with value as well. I thought the planks are overall too bright. Also try adding cooler color for your shadows to help the form turn! It's an old illustration trick. hopefully it will help. : )
green works with the rest of your colours, but not the green you choose, in RTL alot of greens in arab architecture were glazed so you woul dneed a richer deep green and it will work with the stone colour too if you make it paler from an old project i did a while back using similar colours pillar pillar pillar
Yeah, my PC is dying here. While it is a 2 year old laptop (MSI GT683), this is the first game that is just completely unplayable for me. Nearly every other game runs flawlessly at medium settings, including BF3. The FPS doesn't seem to be too bad, but the stuttering is just killing it. Maybe it is the time for me to think…
Niice! I like a lot of the new stuff, esp the belt and the new pants/legs. the gun is a really nice touch too. I really liked the straps on the old wristband though, I dont think the engravings/pattern thingie you have right now is working. I also feel the details on the wooden leg are to small and noisy.
