Separate the frame from the glasses, you want to use alpha blending on as little geometry as possible. Also its probably best to have a separate texture for just the transparent bits too. If these eyeglasses will always go with one character, put the frames with the main texture map for the character, and put the lenses on…
Don't use frames. Frames break lots of things. Want stuff to be fast? Use CSS - it stores all your formatting in one file, so it's only downloaded once. Want things to be really really really fast? Use Server Side Includes. To be honest, you don't need SSI for such a simple site.
Hey guys, I'm new to Maya and Arnold and am having issues getting my animations to finish rendering. They just stop rendering and the logs don't seem to have anything to say about it... they just stop without logging any errors. They usually make it about 20 - 30 frames before stopping. I've checked the frame range in…
This is the first time posting any of my work on Polycount. I'm currently a student. I started this test rather late and I am trying to sculpt my butt off as of lately. This is what I currently have and after going through several threads I feel that I effed up royally especially after seeing the actual in-game model. I've…
work to impress yourself; after all you are your own harshest critic. That said, don't forget to look at what your peers are doing. Personally I've been studying the character & creatures art from the new Wukong game. You can also try recording your progress so you know how much you can make in a given time frame, and if…
Hi, I'm trying to record a movie with matinee (UDK MAY 2012 build). But when I render out my frames (as bitmaps) they are blurred in the beginning of my sequence. Does anybody know why this happening? I have tried higher frame rate 48 and 60. Also highest resolution didn't work. It seems like it needs to have an buffer…
Newbie Animator here. I'm creating my first walk cycle and have set a keyframe on key 1 and and a keyframe on frame 17. Whilst playing the animation however the frames in between make the arm move out before reaching the next keyframe instead of just simply rotating as expected. I've no idea how to fix this, can anyone…
Hey guys, i'll be posting some animations over the next 3-4 weeks to get critiqued and blasted. I'm focusing on animation for school, so this needs to be the absolute best part of my portfolio. Here's a run cycle. i'll get the other ones converted over to a montage MOV later so you guys can scub by frame by frame.... sorry…
For video, the G85 is one of the best cameras on the market in this price range. The G9 is another absolutely phenomenal video machine, but stretches your budget a bit. Panasonic does video exceptionally well, and in the field of mirrorless and DSLR cameras, they tend to do video-centric features better than any other…
Jeff makes some good points. I think the biggest thing to think about is your shot composition. Right now, you have most of the weight in the center of your shot densely packed around your rocky mound. I think you should rotate the camera to the left a little, then dolly it to the right. Get that house in the upper right…
