Hi, this model is for my school proj. i'm trying to do a stylized human based on this sketch. Poly: 422 Max poly with body & cloth: 6000 i've look on some tutorial on face modelling, but somehow i feel this model is not really correct. looking for C&C to improve mostly on the modelling side.
I'm neither environment artist nor architect, but I found this that might help you: https://archive.org/details/historyofarchite00fletuoft Pages 267 to 436 cover Gothic architecture. I think you'll find that Gothic cathedrals have a great variety and are far more complex than you think they are :-) .

oooo just checked the adobe site, seems they've included VAT for england now. so now i have to pay £660.51 for the full purchase, which is still $1064.54. whereas, if i use a US IP address to purchase it, i'm only paying £433. pretty huge difference in price.
Updates: The Main sword is done and the body and boots. I am working on the daggers a bit tomorrow. I am making his side kick this week but I may be pulled away a bit for some storyboard contract work His polys are at 43k tris without his weapons or hair cards.

Thanks guys! I think i'm just gonna stick with a single more powerful card for now, going to go with : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125462&cm_re=Gigabyte_GeForce_GTX_770-_-14-125-462-_-Product for now at least. Anyone else use a GTX 770 or have any thoughts on the setup?
Exactly what oglu said. Visual Model: Can be messy, but needs enough geo to deform correctly. Can have thickness. Sim Model: clean quaded evenly tessellated geo. No thickness. If you are using Unreal here's a good rundown. @5:42 https://youtu.be/FwDT2b-8x9c?t=342
http://itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm Everyone's pretty much seen this... but it's by far had the biggest impact on the quality of my work than anything else. Tackles the basics of so many problems in a single page. More on light and color: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/185/…
