For your Robot I think its coming along nicly just gotta spice him up a bit. You can tell its a robot but he just looks a little plain you might want wo add some gears nuts bolts either as extra peices or in the texture as a normal map
found this today and it somehow quite funny to draw.. I don't know if it is for anything useful cause you always draw on z=0 but the lines are looking quite nice and connect together in some kind of foam or net I'm talking too much, try it out http://www.everyday3d.com/unity3d/drawing/ hope that's not an old…
about to purchase a bamboo pen and touch as I used it in a studio I was working at and quite enjoyed it - just to check the pen and touch is the best one right? aree they a standard size as it does n't really mention much about sizes? intuous has been a bit disappointing overall the pressure sensitivity never seems to work…
Can i allow polygons to "end up" inside the character? Like when i make hair i want the hair to be close to the head.. which makes some parts go inside the head.. i heard that it's bad.. ( idk if it only apply to 3d printing ). This drive me nuts.. since i try to avoid it at all costs and it limits me greatly
I'm getting weird clipping issues in Max9's (x64) viewport with Vista64. If I select a face, run a chamfer command, and other various things in subobject mode my model will disapear until I rotate the viewport again. Sometimes parts of the nurms cage will stay in sight. It's driving me nuts! Anyone experienced this issue…
this is driving me nuts. I have a little unlocker program , but even that is a pain. Is there any way just to stop vista lokcing files. for example I make a head texture in pshop, save it, it gets loaded in max, then max will lock it or explorer will lock it so I can't save over it. some times a file will get locked by…
Yes, it's that day again, when everyone else is suspicious of the April Fool's silliness the site around the net, we are actually celebrating our birthday... for reals. April 1st 1997 was a long long time ago, but we're still counting polys and pushing pixels. Cheers to all! I expect some pictures of cats and cakes hastily…
As you may know, central Texas has a hurricane approaching. The server that this board sits in is in Austin, TX. Projections are showing that we probably won't get hit too badly. However, I think you can expect we'll loose connection to the net at some point. Hang tight and watch the front page. If its anything serious,…
Hey guys, after lurking this thread and getting my own tablet, I thought I'd give rocks a go. For this, I was going for a slab of granite, but I was unambitious with the shape; the next rocks will be using new techniques. Go nuts with critique, I'm going to try bigger formations in future.
you can turn shadow casting off in the objects attributes (right click) for advanced lighting attenuation will be working but maybe your exposure controls are nuts... otherwise for more real but harder to control use photometric lights or advanced material overides on some polies that you use as emmisive surfaces
