The acceptable polycount is subjective to what the model is for. If its for games it would be more limited. For movies/stills your poly count can be much higher. Also, if its for games the polycount cant vary depending on the type of game. As for skinning/weighting...it will look smoother with more polies, but will… -

Any thread started to discuss rape, abortion, or any other flame-baiting hot-button political topic that has no relevance to polycount(art, games, etc) will be immediately closed. ah q2pmp.... lets face it ppms are gone..people just use them to cheat games now hence "punkbuster/artcrusher". But polycount lives on in other games, like gears of war..i mean where would that be with polycount..? we did at least 5 years Rnd on space marine models for that game. -
