if you scale up the texture of the bricks on the main ground near the steps that should work. its just a size issue i think. lookin cool though keep it up!
well it probably more complex than that, but after a while even thought he most determined can get a bit weary of bashing ones head against a brick wall
Is there a smoothing issue on the base of the roof post? The dirt on the stone could extend a bit high IMO. Also some dirt in the cracks between bricks? Its coming along nicely.
Welcome to my work in progress thread, below are the topics that I've planned for this medium sized environment. It's my own design, and I would appreiciate your feedback throughout my project. Summary I'm making a pod racer (my own design) from the Star Wars universe and implementing it into a workshop. The interior…
I've been working on some more environment art modeling/texturing experiments over the last few days; did another pass on the brick wall texture and played around with various trim techniques.
Sculpted a tiling brick material for the walls, I will later bake this down into a 2D Texture following the Fanny Vergne Method. Starting to plan out a trim sheet for some of the varying elements of the scene,
Some of the textures - especially those on the roof & the white tower - have fairly obvious tiling issues. The brick/stucco texture looks rather forced at the moment. Fewer transitions might look better.
With that light near the bricks you are just lighting the shadows your dom. dir. light is casting. That's why you are getting faint shadows. Lose it, lower its power or move it farther away.
Stylized Brick Wall studies for my personal projects. I`ll keep updating the materials and add some others too. Citiques and feedbacks are welcomed. Thanks! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/VX1xZ
