I decided to create a tileable environment and I took inspiration from the roman Cisterns under Instanbul. I started working on it yesterday, and so far I have 4 major pieces done. I'm doing this in 3DS Max (relatively new to it). As you've noticed there are gaps between the pieces. Is there a snap vertex tool similar to…
I'm not sure how to explain it, but basically I have a single row of polys(just an extruded plane) thats bordering a low poly catwalk (think upright handrail) that starts and stops and curves a bit. In Max id just select the polys and then relax and get a straight row of polys in the UVs (or multiple rows since theres…
Hi ! I'm learning XSI these days and i got a problem concerning the shortcuts. If I click the Modifiers into : Model/Modify/Polymesh/Bevel (bevel is an example but it's the same for extrude or others) i get a nice little window with options for this modifier. Like that : But whenever i create a shortcut for this operation…
Except for the falx, everything here got done over the past 2 weeks. Kinda bummed that its takin me so long to finish each weapon. I mean a cylinder with an extruded N-gon stuck to it shouldnt involve a 6 hour ordeal in Xnormal trying to get something thats mathematically flat, to look flat. I just finished the shield…
so - to be clear You draw a spline, convert it to a bitmap, load the bitmap into maya, process it, and remove a bunch of faces so you end up with the same result you'd get if you just drew a spline in maya and extruded it? i feel like there's already an easier way... more seriously - the little python experiment i did a…
Alright, got it working. So I basically did what Eric told me. Extrude each face on the branch, then merge the vertices together again (creating 2 faces). I then stretched a half sphere to cover up the entire tree Selecting the sphere then tree, I went Mesh>Transfer Attributes and made sure only Vertex Normals were being…
just some quick things that spring to mind, please don't take the brevity as me being impolite :) - how's the shower curtain rail (?) connected to the wall? what about the soap holding thing - your tiles don't seem to tile uniformly - shower curtain could use some AO and a little more deformation on the vertical - the…
Hi @ all, first I want to say thank you for all the feedback and critics. @TorQue[MoD]: You are right! The light is definitely missing. Have to spend some time on that. I tried something but the result was ugly. If you or anyone have a tip would be helpful. @odium: I know what you mean the outlines in the texture itself!…
I'd delete the portion where the twist error is. If the geometry lines up perfectly with the straight grooves then you can bridge the two parts together (use the curvebridge brush, zmodeler brush, or do it externally). If they don't line up, I'd probably delete the entire top half and then extrude the edge of the twist…
Adam, didnt you have to do everything with 1 hand for a while? or did you not 3d stuff during your injury? That mouse looks crazy though. I imagine just putting shortcuts on each button, adding things like extrude, split poly, insert edge loop. But good luck darkness. I feel its definitely possible to do one handed. and i…
