Hello, I am a student at the moment and I'm working on an engine for an animation. And I don't really get my animation to work. Some parts don't lock into each other or just go theire own way. And so I am going to ask you guys what is the best solution. Here is what I am working on. I have 2 pistons that need to stay…
Hey everyone, I decided to try a simple asset to get some practice with high poly baking. I decided to do this German stick grenade, it seemed like a fairly simple asset to make. High poly compared to reference: Low poly: Now that I look at it, it seems the end section of the handle is too long. I didn't add the little…
Hello everyone, I have a simple question about modeling topo but it's one that I always have a problem with. I want to know how to move 5 points (Sorry but I don't remember what they are called) around in a model to change the edge flow. If anyone knows how to move them around in a model and change the edge flow this would…
Okay I will try it with zremeshing and projecting or create lower subdivision levels to fix the head characteristics more,Also I will make some sort of metal ring connecting the second arms pair making it a bit more realistic and cyborg looking,I don't have much time left for sculpting as i have to retopology the…
Have you worked on any dark fantasy-based assets lately? Maybe you`ve been drawing certain... runes, magical summon circles, spell insignias of the dark arts? If that`s the case, consider handwriting a few pages of the holy scripts on your tablet. If that doesn`t cancel it out, contact your local priest at once. Should the…
It depends on what you're making. If you are pretty new to the concept of baking, might I suggest doing a series of tests with much simpler objects, preferably ones that are just single meshes and do not require exploding/material ID'ing. A dice with smooth edges and indented circles for the numbers is a good one, as it…
Looking pretty cool based on the gif, but here it just didn't work when I tried it. The free BoxCutter demo (or the paid version, which is 15USD for polyline and circle operations) seem much more stable and will probably receive better support in the long run. https://gumroad.com/l/BoxCutter# That said, the fact that it…
I'm not really sure why you are unwrapping each part of the cylinder individually? There are a few different ways to uwnrap this but the easiest is to just use cylinder unwrap which will get it pretty straight and flat and then relax it and straighten it. Straighten will fix tiny uneven lines, it won't untangle a mess. If…
Some more first passes on materials, this time on the roof and the steps. I also tried something different with the tree with will probably work better in the future. :) There's a bit of a lack of metal in this scene right now, so I'll add some minor elements such as trims and circle attachments later on here and there.…
^ hey man, it looks great! you have my blessing if you want to model any of them. :) maybe some of the small plates and details could be toned down, since as good people pointed out my designs are often too noisy. meanwhile, i started texturing the panel yesterday: any feedback is welcomed. as you can see i added a bunch…
