As my title says, I am trying to render something for my class and the glass textures are appearing black, when in painter I gave them a blue texture. And it also doesn't let me use transmission.
Hi all! I am about to get myself a secondary computer. My first drive was to get a laptop, but I realize that my needs might make the choice a little trickier than expected. So I thought I'd better ask for advice here. I am looking for a solution fitting the following : - Small form factor. It is intended to be somewhat of…
Hi! I think it would help if you marked the area you're are talking about. The most prominent feature I see is stepping along the edges due to the resolution and grid topology of the mesh that's being displaced. Suppose you could work against the stepping by adjusting your content to have a bit more rounded-off stones…
Got a bit tired of modeling the pieces, so I popped on over to ZBrush and made a column. Both of these are the same column, but the one on the left is lit using an image which is closer to the lighting you'll find in the tombs. I love sculpting stone damage, sometimes it seems like it's the only reason I have ZBrush!
A little bit ago I started a modular barn kit, it wasn't until recently I got it up to a presentable stage. The aim is to create a wide array of props & pieces to create barns with, as well as tell a story with the presentation like I achieved previously with the Gas Station. I'm still trying to get the polycount of the…
I am struggling with warp projection gizmo. it's inconvenient as hell and always blurry . Does anyone know an easy way to fit projection like UVMap modifier in 3dmax? I hope I may missed it somewhere.
Welcome! Overall it’s a really nice looking scene. :) One thing that stood out to me is the focal point. Right now, the bridge and the stone lantern both draw a similar amount of attention, so it’s a bit unclear where the viewer’s eye should settle first. You could maybe push one of them more as the primary focus, either…
Loving this but I believe the muddy colors get in the way. Don't make skin just darker brown in the shadows - it moves towards red due to subsurface scattering. Most shadows on skin are slightly glowing red and there is a clear red subsurface band along the shadow terminator. You can research but let me know if you'd like…
I was watching a talk by Stephen McAuley, technical director at Santa Monica Studio discussing their approach to game editors and how they use Maya as their game editor in conjunction with their engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5VeATrOST4&t=2684s Apparently there are many benefits with working with Maya as a level…
Hey Sketchbook! Currently between contracts. Did learn a few new things on the last one: Created stereoscopic 360 videos with Unreal and did materials/ tech art in Unreal and Unity. Sometimes Imposter-Syndrom kicked in, but in the end everything worked out. Have to create some dioramas applying those learnings :-B Decided…
