Nice to see that this edge fading setting is possible to change without affecting edge selection now, as that wasn't always the case (at least not in 3.x) Also now that you are gradually tweaking things to your liking here's a suggestion : by default, recent versions of Blender perform selections on click release - meaning…
@ArtHuman Polygonal automotive modeling workflows typically involve tracing the body lines with curves or subdivided edges and creating clean guide shapes for the curved panels before cutting in any surface details. Whether or not something is modeled as a continuous surface or split into sections really depends on the…
The IGDA collects membership fees. That's useful. Membership fees buy beer. Score for Tim "Douchebag" Langdell stepping down. Once he's out of the picture for good, I can finish my newest game title: Edge of Edginess: The Cutting Edge Trilogy
Your latest renders have a very hard edge where the atmosphere ends (reminded me of the earth shots in 2001). All your previous renders had too large of an atmosphere falloff. I would recommend something closer to the photos sacboi posted... a thin gradient falloff on the edges of the planet.
I’m trying to identify the noise used for the edge, not the gradient. This texture was generated by ChatGPT, but ChatGPT could not guide me on how to recreate this effect myself. The edge has a cloudy, wispy, directionless look. What noise or technique is typically used to generate this kind of texture?
Hey, Does anybody know where they are located? I tried the last address I found which was 24 Broughton Street today but they aren't there... any ideas guys? Thanks
I made a feature request on the official 3dsmax forum for improvements to the new smart chamfer modifier; Evenly distributed edges along the chamfer geometry and inset loops along the borders of the new chamfer geometry. /!\ Please vote for this improved smart bevel feature request on the official 3dsmax website here: /!\…
supporting edges / quad chamfers and creases are sorta same same but different. supporting edges give you better control over the edgequality, as in, its always going to be the same width as per your setting, while with creases the result is highly based on the surrounding geo. its just a slight mindset shift, creases are…
Maybe it's easier to make this inset first and "repair" this later... also depending on the tool.. here in blender: I start with the partly chamfered cuboid (like asked in the other thread).. So because the top and bottom are n-gons a loop/ring select (i always mix the names for the directions up  ) a…
