Hey guys, just added my updated Beaufighter textures to my portfolio, so thought it could do with a bump! Cheers Olli for the crits! For Tanks, I originally played around with having less detailed and visually noisy environments, but I found that the tanks themselves blended in too much, and were therefore less…
just because concept isn't strong doesn't mean you can blame him for having a weak piece. it's disrespectful. when you get a job sometimes you don't get concept art, then what? in the end of the day, you are an artist too. i don't know about everyone else, but for me when i tried doing handpainted stuff, it didn't work…
I'd tone that blue and bloom a little bit or have him in a couple of different lighting setups as far as the rendered pose goes. As of now the blue is kind of killing/overriding his actual colors too much. I'd maybe play around and do another pass or two on the textures and materials, especially the jacket. Right now it…
Wow! Scrolling down this thread and seeing your improvement is very very impressive! I'm looking to try out some Hand painted textures myself. I was wondering uses Mudbox to do this? I have painted textures in Mudbox most recently on the game I Am Bread. I love the feeling of painting onto a model, especially with a…
Your work, pretty much across the board, need a lot more specular highlights as there currently seem be none. You can either handpaint them in or use specular/gloss maps to get dynamic ones, but if you want to sell something as metal the highlights are absolutely key. Without specular highlights that armor could just as…

Hello polycounters ! I'm Olenka, a 3D environment/character artist graduated a few months ago. I'm actually searching for remote job opportunities, as I live in the middle of nowhere ! I mostly love doing stylized and coloured stuff, but I also love more dark projects. I'll do everything I can to provide you good qualities…
Hey guys! So I'm trying my hand at some low-poly modelling and hand-painted texturing. My question is about whether I can unwrap the model before I exaggerate some of the shapes or not. As in, if I model a wooden post, can I do the UVs before I start pushing/pulling verts to give it that low poly stylised look? I'm just…
