Yes, this is Maya and all this rigs used the same setup, to be short its 4 corrective joints for upperarms (to correct forward, back, up and down movement), 2 twist joints for each upperarm and 2 corrective joints for clavicle movement. Mesh proxies also used to make the…
You can hold down the space bar to bring up the Hotbox. If you click and hold on the center Maya button, you get quick access to all orthographic views. It's not the Viewcube, but it prevents having to swap between viewports constantly. Maya saves any objects you copy to some file somewhere, which Maya uses as a permanent…

Neat theme and nice start also if I may suggest some sort of contextual hook for this concept, plus truth be told might come off a tad subjectively biased too... Well namely arachnids, specifically spiders I personally adore them. Where I live, we grow them pretty darn big and hairy (think scaled down Aragog from HP) and…
The issue with this is, too little texture space to compensate for too much shading. Basically you have very strong low poly shading going on. The normalmap tries to compensate but there aren't enough pixels (or bit depth 16bit vs 8bit) to cover it. You have 2 options basically Upping the texture resolution and possibly…

Greetings all, this might be a long post, I'll try to watch it though :) When it comes to game art and 3D I was unfortunately very late to the party. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I discovered the craft and instantly fell in love with it. I was already almost 32, alas :( I got a good job with a good salary, and…
Don't think it's gunna be changed at all before binding it. I assume you mean the skin > smooth bind by binding. I thought that was skin it not bind it haha. Far as i'm aware it won't be getting any more changes, we rig it and the rest of the changes are just applying arnold shaders and making texture files and making a…
