Just picked up the zBrush intro, modular workflow, industrial door and fantasy shield! Thinking about pulling the trigger on the intro to Maya and high-poly modelling in Maya... they look pretty decent!
as a child, my dad read the whole series to me as bedtime stories. I was really hoping that LOTR would make fantasy movies popular again and it looks like its happening! huzzah!
I recommend Paul Bonner, he made lots of fantasy monsters. Might not be what ur looking for but yeh whatever :P I bet you will find something cool, he is amazing.
i think the office worker by day - urban headhunter by night could work since it is for a Gothic-Fantasy genre. just make the detail out of thing he could find around the city.

its the solid snake of the fantasy world o_o my only crit, would be to actually model on the ridge between his nose and his brow, not just texture it. cos it looks flat at the moment.

I've been itching to do a humanoid fantasy creature, so I'm going to see how far I can get on "The Beast" character class. I got some reference together so far. Time to start roughing it out.
