Well, you could argue the same as GG have, that the soldier is on a new planet, he is 3x as heavy as on Earth, and that he has large weapons. hahah weapons do slow down if they hit a "meaty" part. That's how you know you have done critical damage. I feel a bit ripped off with the western version as all the blood and splashes have been dulled. The blood in the Japanese versions really adds to the effect you are doing some serious damage to an enemies weak point.… -

There's the detailing you do to ground and give weight to the asset, things like those smudges and scratches, oiliness etc. that imply this is a real object that has been touched and handled by real people.
