Somewhat OT.. somewhat. Met a Nvidia Rep @ Pax that was supposed to forward email to an engineer. He (rep) has never responded to our programmer. If any of you tech artists have an engineering contact at Nvidia, can you PM me? I won't ask you for it, more if you could forward our contact info to them. FWIW It deals with…
This is my first post, I'm happy to be here can't wait to be a member of this community. I've been in a little rut lately no inspiration whatsoever. I finished this painting during the summer and thought I should post it. I just don't know what to paint or anything, my drive has just gone. Here you guys go: I use photoshop…
i'm experimenting w/polyboost's viewport canvas cloning tool to paint out some seams. anybody use this? i'm having some weird things happen. when i clone...and paint over the seam...everything is fine. but when i rightclick to bring the model back to 3d...the area i cloned is all eff'd up. it's all blown out and pixely.…
I've searched for some time and couldn't find the answer. I am modeling a curved W which I need to subdivide, but I'm unable to achieve satisfatory results. I've also tried creasing, but no avail. The peaks are nice and clean, but the valleys borders are very messed up. Been stuck quite some time on this one. If some hard…

i'm not going to repeat anything that has been said. but i noticed on, for example, the girl w/the pink hoodie you broke the UVs right on the back of the legs. i would put the seam on the inside of the legs. not only would nobody see them, but you have a texture for the seam of the jeans right there anyways...perfect place…
Nokia 6060 (color Series 40 phone, 64k 128x128 display, MIDP 2.0 Java support) costs around 100 euros and if you want something bare-bones, Nokia 1110 (b/w small display, only basic functionality) costs only 45 euros. So, there are options for those who want a simple phone.
Cool to see the contest is still running. A group and I entered in 07 (Rocketball) and it was a ton of fun! MS parties rock! Only crits on the game have to do w/ the art - in particular, the FX don't quite fit the aesthetic. Something less real would work well (mainly the fire that looks so out of place). Best of luck!
Take Flewda's advice. The texture is simply too uniform, no satuation/hue which seems dull to the eyes. Flewda's refs are black, while gloss and spec's add a flow. All this could easily be faked into your texture, w/o using separate maps. Trust me, if done right you'll end up with a much better result.
