Hi there, I'm trying to make this satellite and I have run into a small problem. I don't know how to make a round frame for the wings! Ok just as I was writing this I came up with the idea of adding edge loops too make it round when smoothing and it worked. However I still think there is a better idea. Does anyone know? I…
So I have been having issue with Zbrush and until now it really hasn't been a problem. When I try to use BrushAlphas to break up the surface of my mesh I get the reverse imprint of the alpha on the opposite side of the model, with the details being applied in the opposite direction. Is there something I can do to stop it…
Hello all, I'm working on a 3D model of a ship that is supposed to have the exterior and interior all modeled. I want the transition to be seamless so I wondering how I should go about modeling the inside once the low poly is done for the outside of the ship. Im using mostly Zbrush and cant figure out how I'm supposed to…
Hey, this is what I've got so far. Its a first using floating geometry, it seems like it works. It seems like I've gone for the same thing as Vrav. I started out with this because it looked the trickiest part to do. I used the reference photo. to use as a template on a simple plane, then with planes created the rough…
Looks like the history just fucked up. Opened in 2011 though I guess some new attributes were added for 2012 poly extrusion. Not sure what happened and this is why one of the reasons I clear history when doing extrusions and separate what not haha
In Max 2021.2 Edit Poly keeps normals, and lots of other modifiers were updated to not break normals It's worth upgrading for the following... 1. New Bake to Texture tool in the Utility Panel. 2. New Shift Drag extrude functionality. (Ctrl + Shift for the old clone behavior.) 3. Weighted Normals. Just keep it at the top…
Thanks a ton 3DKlassen, yeah the Fusion is such a middle of the road(heh) design, I did have a look at it when setting out the proportions. Back to progress: Finished the windows and all the little filler pieces around them. All these pieces aren't subdivided, but extruded and beveled and with FWN applied. Also tweeked the…
i was looking over your flats and was wondering, how did you go about unwrapping your rails? for the side rails it looks like the extruded pieces are off of the body of it, whereas on the top rail the entire thing is laid out flat. my main "conern" of it is where do you put the front/back pieces of each rail? based off…
Also, the doors are looking really flat. None of the geometry makes the models pop. I noticed you are taking the basic shapes from the concepts, but you are leaving out a lot of the things that make it look functional. Instead, you have details that are lines extruded all over the place. Also, I noticed a lot of your…
Thanks Stoy79 and Comradedispenser! At the moment im baking. Before i bake i try to soften the edges a bit more. I used a modified Airsoft. Its not the standart 74 so there are some parts which are different. It´s more a Tactical Version maybe used by the Speznas. Its an E&L AK74 Mod A: I didn´t made the 3 Extrudes on the…
