Hey there guys, apologies in advance for my stupid question but how exactly do I run this? I have followed Autodesk's instructions for both saving and running a MEL script but I get nothing. I'm sure I'm just missing something simple. It looks amazing by the way
im getting this error; --compile error: Unable to create copy/move destination directory C:/Program files/Autodesk/3ds Max 2012/scripts/turbo tools --in line: drop $ --In file:mzp.run in package C:/Users/BonnerXPC/Desktop/turboTools_V2_Max2012_64Bit/turboTools_V2M_ thanks for helping out man!
Check your local library. They might offer free access to lynda.com so if you have a library card number and pin you can just log in at home or anywhere you want to watch and learn. There's some basic modo series in there plus autodesk, zbrush and blender lessons.
Cool! So how are you handling reflections then? Do you have a cubemap input? or...? Also...potential issue here. I see you are working in max 2010. Are you preparing this to work post max 2013 when autodesk decided to screw up the way normals work?
So always when I have an object with small but many same looking objects and I don't want to waste space in the UV I cannot use the "LayoutUV" Function and have to layout and scale myself? Wow that's not what I expected :( Will send a feature request to Autodesk. Thanks
Do you have a license? Have you asked Autodesk for assistance? late afterthought edit: I really don't mean to be an ass or insinuate anything; but if its an account/license issue that you can't noodle with google-fu, it's probably something you ought to talk to them about.
maybe there is also a script to turn that on. Autodesk also turned it off for Max after Max 2013 i think. When I asked about it, they told me that this isn't possible anyways and who would need that? Oh well, turned out they made a toogle and didnt create UI for it...
I love how Pixologic has these crazy ideas. Can't wait to Autodesk buy this and make them stop! It does indeed look great but I have some doubts it will improve much my workflow, at least not as much as Decimation and GoZ. But looking good and can't wait for Zb4!
Thanks a lot guys all the advice is kind To add on a side note I am getting Autodesk Education Bundle for Creation 2010 for $350 on a Student Discount and I get: Maya, 3ds max, Mudbox, Sketchbook, Motionbuilder, Softimage I would love any more advice
I like how I say this, and then a little digging later reveals that they did put it into 2010. I'm still pretty sad that I never did this, but I guess it's for the best. Knowing Autodesk, the integration will be much deeper than it could've been using my hacky DotNet method.
