Hi, I'm just wonder how I should rig my model and which joints I should assign to where so I can minimize stretching and make it more natural If someone could show low-poly examples I'd be really happy :poly114: Here's the vertex coloring of the bones to the mesh I'm using Milkshape 3d to animate this
Hey, i'm doing my thesis on rigging for games compared to film. I would really love if you could take a couple of seconds to answer it. https://docs.google.com/forms/u/0/d/17NG3BklGBI7P7HkeZ88ACWvajQt8Kn4dN_nt2APgVcM/edit?usp=forms_home&ths=true Thanks in advance!
EDITED... found some good tutorials on Maya that explains the new features added to rigging tools in Maya...had no idea using the settings window of the paint skin weights,u can select vertices, edges or faces and the joint and finetune the weights like the component editor.
So I'm making the switch from Rigging Tech Artist to more of a Technical Animator. The problem is, even though I've done a fair amount of animation, I don't have much to show for it. I've been concentrating on learning Python for the last year or so, so I'm kind of rusty with the animation. I started animating some of my…

I have a chainsaw model that got the body with the handle and blade. The blade got it's own duplicated series of blades that go around the chain using motion path, snapshot, IK spline handle offset. I got the chain blade working but I need a body joint rig to allow it to work inside of Unreal Engine 4 both 3rd person and…
I have been modeling for the last decade, but it's always been menial models, no high-res work. I've only ever dabbled with Zbrush and Mudbox, never diving into it deeply. Myself and my friends have done moderate work in Unreal Engine 4 and I enjoy the workflow, but I am wanting to up my quality and begin making normal…
