Thats the ticket. I've been playing with Hands in Silo for the last few days doing various methods to see which ones make the most sense for high poly. I have found the starting the divisions for fingers from the finger bones (inside the palm) rather than just where the fingers appear to be extruded from the end of the…
Hello guys, I really need some help with high-poly modeling. I actually got a cylinder, I extruded the quad parts in some places and applied turbosmooth. Well, it doesn't seem to work in this case. Turbosmooth ruined the quads and created circles (very ugly ones.) I know about supporting edges, but it also doesn't seem to…
Im getting back to max after being in cinema 4d and silo for a while and I was wondering where is the select polygon loop function? it is grayed out when Im editing my object and that is really frustrating as I want to do multiple circular extrudes and keep having to select each poly manually. I assume Im missing something…
Hey all, its been a while since I have used Zbrush and are wondering what I am doing wrong here. I extruded a simple primitive and polygrouped them to represent vertebrae. I then wanted to use the Dynamesh "group" split function to split all the polygroups into their own vertebrae. What im left with are ugly jaggies and…
Hi guys so with 3ds Max we have Constraint options in Edit Geometry , but when I want to extrude vertex or edges along the edge I don't have any option. Also its quite awkward in Max that I can't align vertex to vertex/edge/face like with Maya just choose a vertex and hold 'v' on keyboard to align. :/
Hi guys, for the last 2 hours I've been searching all over the interweb without any luck in search of a 3d short film about a cartoonish girl getting a digital make up kit where she can move her own vertices and extrude. She of course fucks it up and ends up deleting half of her face(sorry for spoilers) Can anyone help me?
This past week I have been feeling a bit motivated. This is something I attempted, to understand sub d modeling. I'm truly proud of this. The thing I had to wrap my head around was creating the outer plates. Just a plane subdivided accordingly to create the shape then extruded. Non-manifold geo is present and I don't know…
two things i would change is the fact that your extruded forms are flat, but most likely this was produced on a lathe, so then it should be round on the outside. more subdivisions would achieve that. and the top part looks more like a radius than a bevel for the ngon. for highpoly models which only get used for baking it…
Free form modeling of splines in the viewport is a problem in 3DSMax. I am probably missing something. A while back they introduced the ability to rotate the viewport in 3Dsmax while editing the spline. But splines keep snapping to the grid while grid snapping is off. I just want to free form extrude splines in the view…
I have a bunch of 2d vector/curves shapes that need to be round/oval/inflated and I need to be able to play around to see which looks best to me. What software would be the best for creating simple round shapes from sketches that allow the most customization and is relatively easy to use? I need to be able to adjust…
