Are you baking shadows or lighting? If shadows make sure the skylight has shadows enabled, it defaults to off. -

First of all, in what program are trying to bake it? From what I can see, these errors should be solved by a tighter cage. Check different values, it can vary based on your model's scale. -
Strange issues in AO baking
As you see some elements are imprinted on other elements. The positions of all meshes are frozen. Could it be related to big scene size? As you see I have wheels moved far away, in order to make them occlude properly. -

You should be able to apply a displacement map in Max and use render to texture to bake a light map. That should take the displacement into consideration. -

you can polypaint them and then bake vertex colors in xnormal and use that as a base for mask in photoshop. You can also think about adding stuff like stitches entirely in photoshop, sometimes it's not worth it to sculpt these details. -
Cage baking DISTANCE
So I think I've read through most of the baking threads on here and am really close to getting a nice bake out of my model; however, I'm having 1 last problem with my cage.
