Heya guys, Ive been checking the TF2 customization thread lately and seeing some pretty authentic handpainted textures, that match the style quite well. Was wondering if anyone had any brushes similar in Photoshop format i could use? Or point me in the direction of some that are towards that style. Currently Working on…
I am working on this lowpoly robot for my portfolio and since he is really lowpoly I wanted to mainly focus on his textures. As I started working on him a friend noticed he kinda looks like something from Borderlands so I might go more into that artstyle. I am trying to acchieve a handpainted feel something like a…
Hi everyone! :) I recently took part in the (now finished) handpainted #FoodChallenge contest, hosted by Sketchfab and Jasmin Habezai-Fekri. For my entry I made a chocolate orange cake & ice cream, complete with sketchfab wafer and spoon! Modelled in Maya, textured in 3D Coat. 2366 tris, 1024x1024 diffuse. model Here is a…
Hi guys, this is my latest personal work I did in my spare time based on Joe Madureira's work and I was also very inspired by the Ingame model by Volodya Liubchuk and Darksiders Franchise. My main go in this project was to push myself to do a stylized PBR character that is almost 100% handpainted. Thank you! =D I'm…

background as a lighting artist and environment artist on
different projects for mobile, PCgames, Marketing etc. I’m very
flexible in style that let me work both on organic and

(Handpainted+PBR). In my…
I think that depends on what the consumers want. People are still buying the occasional 2D pixelart game even though the tech has long since moved on. I think the majority of games are either handpainted style or arcadey realism, and I don't see that changing much, regardless of the tech behind it. It'll just get clearer…
Working on the texture of the body... considering i never seriously tried to do a handpainted character before today, i'd like to ask you guys what you think about the result i've achived here, and if in your opinion is missing something and if yes, what...? Plus, soon enough i'll be moving on the armor texture and of…
Hey, I would cut down some of the saturation all together and make the colours slightly more harmonious. I'd pick a focal point and try to paint towards that. Also try turning your texture to grayscale, I have a feeling that all your tones are the same, try to separate them a bit and you will have better results.…
Thanks for the feedback! Been working on adding some values and variety, mostly the rocky bits the house stands on. Also been teaching myself UDK so I can get the house properly lit up. I have also been stalking the incredible Jessica Dinh's thread http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105526 Really pushing…
Wow these are nice to hear, thank you all. There isn't anything technical to it, just that japanese animation like Akira and GITS with handpainted backgrounds are our main inspiration. We try not to be scared of color, but to use it with caution. We light the characters with backgrounds in viewport to try them to fit…
