Thanks for the info guys. I did have a roof, I just so happen to turn it off so you can see the inside of the building. Even with the roof on it did the same thing. However, I was not using a vray physical camera, so I'll be giving that a shot now.
Loving the roof texture. I know the mesh for the building is not final but maybe make sure that at the bottom edge of the roof the tiles line up cause right now some of them spill over and look a little weird. Great job on the scene though. Can't wait to see more.
I like it but I think the roof is a little unrealistic with the giant slanted planks of wood, I imagine it would have been covered with something at one point to protect it from the elements, so it would be cool to see little pieces left on the roof, wether it was tiles, thatch, etc.
This is an environment I made to experiment with the new features in Unreal 5. I made everything using Houdini, Zbrush, and substance designer. https://youtu.be/T8ZqoaS6OsI and a video showing the process https://youtu.be/HXD6qF5hysg and the artstation link: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/q9ak3a This blog post on…
So here is a evening update before I hit the hay. The one concern I have at the moment is how to best do the roof?, If I have individual roof plates then it would be alot of polys and also alot more to paint?. But it gives a nice breakout from the mesh....... to be continued.
Hi, thank you so much for the response! Yes, I see it now, that it really is a bit oversaturated. Will fix that in the next iteration of work. :) As for the roof, it consists of 6 different roof tiles, which I then copied and placed in different places, so I can't make a gradient like that.
Easy...Grimlock comes to earth as one of those robotic meteor things. Crashes through the roof of the Natural History Museum. Sees a big model TRex. Decides...Whoa...Cool. "Grimlock SMASH!" Or..Or... He crashes through the roof of a cinema doing re-runs of Jurrasic park. Simples..
The roof tiles should bend with the cartoony curvature of the roof, not appear straight and have tiles seemingly pop outta nowhere. Overall, the work is really solid but needs some texture tweaking to make it all come together and look believable. Post more when you get a chance
Riad from memory and from a few quick interweb searches for "marrakech hotels", where does Riyadh come from? maybe different localistion? just reallised the roof in renders is just the interior beamed ceiling backfaces, doh, need to re-render with propper roof tiles in =D
