I should note: I think it's stupid that 4k started coming the instant that everyone converted to 1080, so I'm not a big fan of it right now. I just think the industry is going to cram it down our throats.
Hey fellas, I have a 1080 GTX Asus rogue laptop, kinda powerful, but when using many layers in substance painter it becomes kinda annoying and slow, even when I save the file I wait approx 2 to 3 mins to save it. Anyone knows if there is a trick or a tip to improve it's performance? :)
Alright, time to break down the economics. I was on the way out so I couldn't post in more detail last time. First off, drop the sound card, drop the water cooler (unless you really need an absolutely silent build or something). Swap the 2TB SSD to a 1TB (EVO 850 is a good choice), throw in a 1-3TB HDD, archive files onto…
xsplit does everyting I need, can stream up to 1080 provided you have the upload for it, pretty simple to configure screen capture space/overlays etc and works on most streaming sites, as for where to stream I'd recommend twitch.tv
Hey all, I wanted to bring this kickstarter to our attention, it really seems like something super useful for us artists. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1302528630/masters-of-anatomy?ref=live It's an anatomy book where a 100 artists draw their version of the ideal male and female (like Loomis did.) Anyway, this quote…
Dither is the mode that you should use. It will look grainy in the viewport, however it will be much smoother when you export a rendered, multisampled image. Export a very large image, like 3840x2160 and resize to 1080 to further improve dither quality.
Yeah, most I7's have a very good price/performance ratio. You can go with an I5 but you literally get what you pay for. Usually with CPUs there is an insane price curve but the mid-range I7's have been very good value for money lately. The high end I7's are another story though. The diff between an I5 and I7 is $100, and…
@Passerby Nice desk, sturdy and well put together lg w2353v I use to own 2 of these, they had some pretty strong blacks but sold them 3 years ago. IPS are great but expensive I would try and sell those for say $100 for both. Save up first and then go ahead and swap them out, working with 1 monitor can be pretty limiting.…
Thanks JordaN, since your reply I tried all that and saw some improvement but had no luck getting the chairs to appear properly grounded. I'm wondering if the issue with the chair legs appearing to float was partly to do with how thin the legs were. I've got light bounces set to 100, however increasing the light bounces…
A big mistake that most people tend to make is trying to have everything 'seen'. Focus on the composition of your scene, what is your key area of interest, and light the scene according to that. Having a darker soft blue/grey ambient so that the scene is not 100% black is a good place to start, then work up the light and…
