How to improve substance painter performance?

Hey fellas,

I have a 1080 GTX Asus rogue laptop, kinda powerful, but when using many layers in substance painter it becomes kinda annoying and slow, even when I save the file I wait approx 2 to 3 mins to save it.

Anyone knows if there is a trick or a tip to improve it's performance?

Work on lower resolution and hide every layer you dont need.
Only go to full resolution for review and export.

save and compact will help with saving speed - a lot of crap can get left lying around and really bloat file sizes.

is save and compact just mean to export your textures, essentially "merging layers" like you would in photoshop?

it flushes unused resources from the file  - they come from things like undo history and rebakes as far as i understand it

To cleanup the scene i would use --> File --> Clean...
