Been making some slow progress on this project over spring break. Just a lot of trial and error with getting my lows to match up with my highs cleanly, etc. Here are a few shots of both my exploded high and low poly layers. Any advice about the process (as I understand there are many) or crits are welcome!
I am happy to announce Anatomy and figure sculpting mentoring program , a program which combine theory, practice and design principles with constructive critiques to help you learn and improve on your figurative art .its using century old manter<=>apprentice type methodology with a modern twist. Program is flexible ,…
Maya should provide very good results. Baking things one at a time is probably a good idea in this case, but it doesn't explain your funky results. First of all, I wouldn't use JPEG. Second, you might want to play with the search envelope percentages on the low res meshes. Show the envelopes and increase them so that they…
Post your pictures and movies of you and your family having fun in the snow :D nice snow pictures are welcome too. mine: http://www.vimeo.com/2779842 curious to see how everything looks on the other side of the globe :) . EDIT: oh, and these are mobile phone pictures :)
This model will be used for real-time rendering so I'm trying to optimize it more. This is the low-poly, but the high-poly is just a linked object with a subd modifier (Blender). It is full of edgeloops that are just there to make the low-poly and high-poly shade better. (Marked in green are a few of them). Do I actually…
Yeah it's just a bit slow sometimes. The forum software has to scrub your images before hosting, remove metadata, bad headers, etc. so there is a conversion step in there. Generally it's best to use JPG, compresses better so it loads faster for your audience. Our overall footprint is several hundred terabytes these days…
Useful information so quickly! Thank you! @GCMP Indeed I AM box modelling the head! Though not any more due to the excellent tutorial you sent me. That looks great - much obliged. Thanks also for the quick paintover, makes your point very clearly, shall endevour to do better on this in the future. @pior Which fold are we…
Is this a thing, or is it not a thing. I'm currently using Blender for all my needs. I enjoy hand painted textures but figured doing hand painted textures on a high poly didn't make much sense. So basically I'm trying to normal bake the high poly on the low poly (I think?) Then start painting on a new texture the next…
Here are some lighting updates! Shot 1 I keyframed some blocks to balance out the foreground and midground. Feel free to check them out in our next animation update! Shot 2 Shot 7, made the lighting darker to show more neon colours. Shot 8, made a node-based material for the background Shot 14a lighting and setdress, faked…
Next I moved onto making some sand bags, just to get the general elements of the scene in place I initially planned on sculpting these so I can get a little bit more details since in the reference image there's quite a few stacked on top of each other both around the shrine and on top of it. I was thinking to potentially…
