Hi everyone, I'm new to interactivity in UE4 so I'm unsure if this is a simple request or a complex one. I have a scene set up that I can walk around in, and I'd like to add in the functionality below: 1.) A click or key command makes a popup appear on the screen as well as a crosshair in the center of my viewport. 2.)…
Hey everyone. Quick problem looking to get solved. I'm in the middle of a Zbrush project and suddenly none of my material previews are showing in lightbox or in the Toolbar. They show on the sculpt fine, the tooltip shows a preview of the material on the sculpt in lightbox, but they don't show on the orbs. The problem…
Hey guys, dont know much about shaders so wanted to ask first before starting to dig deeper into this. I am trying to add mud on hair and I was thinking it might be a good idea to try a layered material. Is it possible to convert the hair shader epic came out with to be used in a layered material setup so i can add the mud…
Project Description: On an isolated
island tormented by monsters and magical horrors, a shipwreck survivor must quell an ancient god who
threatens to rise again and wipe out the island’s
inhabitants. We’re working on a medieval
fantasy RPG project. The pre-production phase is
nearly complete, so we’re gearing up and hiring…
I haven't read it, but from the material that I saw from it (and a simple fact that it was assembled over the years of constant updates), you probably going to see that some menus were shifted over time to different locations, or we now have new features that make some things much easier (like new Array modifier). For…
You might want to increase the shininess on the wood where it will get worn, primarily the pistol grip and the fore grip. The specular color for wood (and other non-metallic materials) should be the complement of the material's diffuse color. So, yes, it should be bluish for your wood. Metallic materials, on the other…
Hi, are there any VR materials like the ones ILM labs (STARWARS) perhaps this been done before on any Unreal projects/market place. I had a quick look, but I could find any. I also believe VR materials need to be simple (not many instructions) and info on this? If anybody can point me in the good direction :-) Thanks in…
Okay, holy crap. I created a similar material. Now the viewport is rendering all objects behind that material. how do I fix this? Nevermind... Fixed it. Turns out shaded mode really messes up materials :S. I thought it only removed default lighting/shadows.
Hello, Im using Blender and im creating right now a 3D Asset it has like 80 Objects the Question is should i join everything together and UV Map it or leave it like that? I saw people joining everything together and UV Mapping it after that and assign a Material ID for each object to use in Substance Painter.. i want to…
i didn't look at your maps, but you should never have gradients in your ID map. this is specifically stated in the tooltip and in the wiki. your ID map should be as clear as possible without any gradients at all. in case you want to have a soft transition between 2 materials, you should use one ID for both materials and…
