Awesome thread!! Completed this game earlier, the level design, material design and Lighting blew me away, I kept wanting to stop and Inspect every surface and object. Would actually pay the full price again for dlc that let me just free roam the maps and stare at stuff.:poly124: Loving all these material and level shots.…
I agree, but what purpose would it serve in terms of gameplay or story? Storylines in most triple-A titles are something of an afterthought as it is, let alone the complexities of relationships. Gay or straight, it doesn't immediately lend itself to a compelling gaming experience. The only game I can think of right now…
There were some heavy casualties in my hometown. My praying mantis eggs along with a few moms blew away. I had them in a cage and was trying to raise an army of them. And only a few more days till they hatched. RIP...
Well it's all relative, if 8hrs is your benchmark of artistic devotion per day plus 1hr set aside for doing something else...all good. Personally since I don't derive an income nowadays from my efforts, it's basically levelling up technical workflow aspects and simple fun however if a particular itch needs scratching then…
I was inspired by a fellow artist into doing a 128 poly prop per day and here is first 3 days of this commitment. Its totally fun you guys should try it! Day 1: Day 2: Day 3: Please crit!
From what I've gathered being at AI...depending on which campus you go to I suppose; the quality of work depends on you. The game art department teacher pushes maya and renders in mental ray...being new to 3D I went "oooh pretty pictures"... One year left of school I met another game art teacher who asked the class,"why…

Try welding the problem face with the corresponding faces to make a more complete UV island, at the moment its just a single face but welding the…
The easiest thing to do is have Max install on all 3 computers and open the scene and tell it to render a certain batch of frames. A more complex method is to use a Backburner to submit render jobs to your network and have all the computers render frames or buckets of the image. This is probably more trouble than it's…
Chaos has a very good Help forum for V-Ray, staffed by knowledgeable users and support staff. Have you tried searching (and posting) in there? That's the first place I would look, as well as checking the help files. I don't use motion blur, as I never animate, sorry I can't help you there.
This is an old map I'm bringing back to see if i can't fix it up nice. I'm a Level Designer for the most part but that doesn't the levels can look bad. Most of the models are made by other people that worked with me on this level i was just hoping to get some feedback on the look of the terrain and the overall feel of the…
