try going to your documents folder and seeing if there's a Mudbox folder there. If there is, you can delete it or rename it, or go into it and remove/rename any existing folders for the Mudbox version you have. This will make Mudbox create a new set of preferences on bootup.
Check if Gamma correction is turned on. If it's off, then try resetting your Max settings by exiting Max and renaming this folder: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2012 - 64bit If that doesn't work exit Max, and rename it back.
never mind, i figured out what it was, I had renamed my CAGE combined and that messed up the match by name :L just had to rename the parts of CAGE again, I didnt realize the names of the cage matters

@pior ups, never tried to install from zip myself - solution is pretty easy, just rename the zip to workplane, or go to <user>appdata/roaming/blender foundation/blender/version/scripts/addons and rename the folder "Workplane-master" to workplane.
