You can also right click an object, go to properties and make it show the vertex colors in the viewport. Then you can export in those formats and reimport to check if they retain this information.
I think only FBX has the proper import for Vertex color. ASE had some issues or didn't show them. This was is the update about 4/5 months ago, so I could be wrong about the October version.
