Triangles is the "real" count. If you have it set to "count polygons", it will treat quads as a single polygon (which they are) but a quad is made up of 2 triangles.
:Scrathes head: Ok, so if my limit is 1000 polygons i should read the count from "triangles" which will bonce the score at 1600 when in reality i only see 837 faces ? I see what you mean by polygons are made up by 2 triangles, you can clearly see it if you collapse your mesh to "edit mesh" there's a whole lot more polys…
I have an object in my scene, when activated the polycounter under "count polygons" i get 837 But when i activate the "count triangles" it goes up to 1430, and i have about 4 visible triangles on my object What is the best way to know the exact number of "faces" in Max ? i don't really care if its tris or polyquads but…
