I've been trying to figure out a good way to recreate the textures in this game, specifically the flat wood texture on the table and trim. It looks flat with minimal/no normals maps so not sculpted, and it doesn't look like any substance designer texture I've seen. What could be a good way to go about replicating it? The…
looks to me like a soft woodgrain texture that's been projected in Painter (or w/e) to wrap around the edges. Its very low opacity, and there's a subtle curvature highlight and AO shadow.
That's a very different artstyle with a ton of grunge and deep normals. Solarpunk the game has barely any noticeable normal maps and uses flat, clean textures with pure colors and no damage.
