@Axi5 You can add the integrated one to the UI in any layout using the form editor; no need to keep the old install. (Go to game tools layout, open form editor, click Find FOrm, click on VNTK button, duplicate it in form editor, and drag it up to modo Modes Tails group) -

How important is it that pieces snap to the grid in the game engine if you do the layout in your 3D app? Besides snapping is there any other benefits to making modular pieces fit to the grid? I would layout my pieces in maya(snapping but not in respect to a grid) and then use a python script to send that over to UDK. -

Oh please not this again, just read this thread: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80947 TL;DR: UV stats are meaningless, things like texal density, and having enough padding to ensure proper bakes are what is important. A super tight layout with the least % of wasted space is often a *bad* layout. -

I would do a 3d scan to create a textured 3d model and then reproject the texture onto an unwrapped sphere with the UV layout I want. -

Normalmap not right after baking in mudbox

For what it's worth, here's a first mockup tackling sub forum layout, done at 90% scale. I'll do another one for thread layout later if that's helpful. You've ridden the site of some of the convolution that it suffered from earlier. Good job. The next step is bringing the layout and art up to par with your art content. Find a simple colour scheme, easy to read fonts, (something my own site suffers from atm) and a clean layout to make it really shine.
