I think the "add selection to current layer" is available if you right click the layer. I've only used 2015 briefly before going back to 2014... Where the last version of outliner worked.
what version of maya are you using, the exporter source provides wont work on 2011 or 2012 and i think not even 2010. there is a community made script around too, but it is also shit. even know maya is my main package, when it comes to source i pretty much always just export to 3ds Max or Blender to do the smd export.…

What kind of hardware? Updated video drivers? Why 2010? That was probably one of the buggiest releases there have been in max history. I would jump to 2012 or go back to 2009.

I don't know what happened, I had maya previously rendering the normal maps on my objects and viewport 2.0 can see them, however now when I render the normal maps using maya software renderer don't come to fruition! Any suggestions?
Hello im trying to export some shading effects within Maya into a texture so that i can use it in a game engine. Everytime i try and export it it doesnt create the same effect. Possible problem could be that it only exports the "Raw" version and not the "sRGB gamma version". Please help
