Hello im trying to export some shading effects within Maya into a texture so that i can use it in a game engine. Everytime i try and export it it doesnt create the same effect.
Possible problem could be that it only exports the "Raw" version and not the "sRGB gamma version".

The difference is the ambient colour if that helps.
So, even though you're seeing shading in the viewport, it's not being considered. You probably want to look into ambient occlusion or point light maps.
One thing that's really useful for this is to use a Gradient Map adjustment layer. This allows you to control the shadowing differently than the rest. You can also make the transition from light to dark have more saturation, to mimic sub-surface scattering.
