@ZacD @Spwee Thx for your suggestion. I am now using a combination of metallic 0.8 + roughness 0.7; these values feel wrong to me intuitively but somehow I think it looks better in engine:
Look into the Mental Ray production shaders. Specifically, the mip_rayswitch and mip_matteshadow. This page has a ton of great examples to get you headed in the right direction: http://mentalraytips.blogspot.com/2007/10/production-shader-examples.html
I have a roughness of about 0.7 for the 3d objects with a diffuse boost of 3/4 and on the floor base the roughness is 0.35. After that I used a directional light and a fair few reflection capture spheres.
Hello, i have the same issue and once i tried what DrFlail suggested the QS opens inside 3ds max 2017 but there is no colors in the box. Is this QS just not compatible with max 2007 yet?
