Just so we're on the same page, here's an image of the anatomy I'm trying to emulate. I think I have it kind of right, I just need to adjust the proportions. Am I missing something here? http://mburbank.com/doggy.jpg
ha so much for those 1hr heads. need to start that again :S female anatomy, going off of an old mesh will retopo soon. general proportions are what im aiming for(hands and feet are wonky I know). crits welcome!
Guitar Hero anatomy = :( I agree with acc's assesment. Additionally, is the girl undead? She lives on a desert planet and she's not just pale, she's BLUE. Not exactly an oxygen rich environment? She better be some kind of Ghoul or something for that complexion...
Are you calling this done? It still looks like a WIP. It needs.. Better renders. (lighting is a mess) Better texturing (skin looks like clay and give no indication that its flesh) and Better facial anatomy (the face still freaks me out)~
Vig - Yea I'm still learning and studying anatomy, so I'm sure there are some errors on my models. Thanks!, glad you like my layout. I will correct my thumbnails so they give a better representation of what they link to.
Looks great. The arms and thighs look a little weak in concept compared to the armor segments. Could use more basic shapes for anatomy, which I'm sure will come through when you start sculpting. All together, looks nice.
personaly i think if you were trying to get a job you should go with more life drawing type work, not necesarily life drawing, but whole body renderings demonstaring a knowledge of anatomy and rendering, but thats just my opinion
I only just stumbled upon this over at cgtalk really cool digital anatomy painting (Photoshop) tutorial By Nebezial. There's quite a few pages....the majority of the stuff can be downloaded here as a PDF. http://www.elbandersnatcho.com/modules.p...nload&cid=1
For a character artist, you are not showing any good anatomical understanding in your models. I don't think you're ready for a professional/freelance yet, try to get an intern or some actual sculpting/anatomy/art classes would be more suitable.
[ QUOTE ] Regardless of what technique you use, you'll need to know your anatomy to be any good at organic models ... [/ QUOTE ] and, if using Maya, a plug-in or twelve ... Damn! on a roll. But, once again, only kidding for you Maya fans in the house
