Design-wise: I really hate the Metro look of the site (I don't know anyone who likes the Metro stylings of Win8 so replicating that is only going to turn folk off instantly). @Vig, WoW isn't the only example I can think of, it's just the most common one people know of. I don't think you can fairly say that a model must be a certain number of polygons or that everyone else in the world is following suit. I never worked with Unity beyond some little testing but from this small citation they refer to so called parallax mapping which makes kind of several layers/slices , totally in 2d and each slice getting certain UV shift based on texels height values. I haven't herd of using the curvature map (same as the cavity map in xNormal i assume) for use in the diffuse map. What exactly does that help do? For me, I use Photoshop CS4's 3d feature to do most of my texturing. I bake out all my maps and save out a low poly .obj file and create a 3d document with no Photoshop lighting…
