Great work on the castle! I love the whimsical approach, it's working very well :) The swirling clouds fit perfectly! One thing I noticed (and it wasn't immediate, mind you) is that the castle walls appear to be solid stone? Oooorr on second thought I suppose they could be plastered over stones? The coloring is fairly…
this sculpt looks pretty nice, I suggest looking around for similar ref to find ideas, Orbs work is fairly similar maybe you can find some inspiration there. the stone with the skulls attached look a bit too rounded in some areas and the wear looks uniform, try adding some loose/chipped stones and noise when you do a…
good start oobersli. Yeah it looks a bit stretchy at the front. That stone is really long at the bottom and has a weird kink at the end. Try to work more with the stones, and map the top surface properly so it matches the stones around the well too. Another little idea, try adding some detail for the end of each roof tile…
So im in a project which I need to build the lighting by selected objects instead of the whole scene at once, the thing is when I do this the lighting reacts as it shouldn't. If i build them separatelly: this is by building both at the same time (and as it should do): How could I fix this?
Really fun asset here. I really like the forms. I think the colors for each surface are rather monochromatic and lack some subtle light bounce from the neighboring objects. You've got it from the furnace areas but missed it in the metal near the stones. Pushing your highlights on the metal also will help separate them…
The solid surface modelling and texturing look great! With that being said the stone steps sticking through the solid stone well wall sides don't look right, I'd hide the ends back behind the wall. The water also looks quite odd, the falling water particles disappearing in midair is quite obvious, and the "flowing water"…
Shouldn't there be a hole in the sigil at the rear? Beyond that I think the main issue is that your stone doesn't look all that believable. the stone with the little divots in it that you've made the Khorne sigil out of in particular isn't really working. It'd be well worth digging up some nice reference pictures of…
Updated pass. urgaffel- Thank you for your comments! Based on your feedback I adjusted the diffuse pass on the stones base colors. As well I have darkened the color of the stones and added a dirt pass. The dirt feels a bit noisy and realistic too me and there still may be a bit too much aqua color coming through. I am…
Hey there , I look at this concept ,and I must say i really like the idea. However your stones could use a bit chipped shape and more sharpness.By chance I happen to have a recent model i modeled yesterday. You can see it HERE.And nice techniques to make stones I can also suggest - visit THIS blog , It has great VIDEO…
To keep it looking like stone, you should maybe follow the concept closer with the tongue and have it blend into the body more, if it was really stone ( even if it is evil black chaos magic stone ) the thin hanging tongue would likely snap off when being chiselled. Though just having typed all that and looked at the…
